Legal Bases (according to Article 13 of the GDPR)

We will only save your data for as long as is necessary. We will process your data according to the following legal bases:

  • Article 6, Section 1 and Article 7 of the GDPR, relating to the completion of services and legal obligations.
  • Article 28 of the GDPR, relating to personal data being processed on behalf of a company/party.

Once the deadlines have expired, your data will be deleted in accordance with routine procedure.

Your Rights

The General Data Protection Regulation grants you the following rights:

  • The right to request confirmation of processing for the personal data concerning you (Art. 15)
  • The right to request a copy of the data (Art. 15)
  • The right to rectify inaccurate personal data concerning you (Art. 16)
  • The right to complete incomplete personal data concerning you (Art. 16)
  • The right to delete personal data concerning you (“Right to be Forgotten”, Art. 17)
  • The right to restrict the processing of personal data concerning you (Art. 18)
  • The right to transmit the data to a third party (Art. 20)
  • The right to complain to the supervisory authority stated above (Art. 77)
  • You may withdraw your given consent with future effect (Art. 7, Section 3)
  • The right to object to processing of personal data concerning you (Art. 21)

Erasure or Locking of Data                                                                        

We only save all data that we have collected for the reasons named in this data protection statement and/or other legally mandated reasons for as long as is needed for the respective purpose. This is done in accordance with the principles of data avoidance and data economy. Once the purpose has

been fulfilled and/or the deadlines have expired, the data will be erased, destroyed or locked, in accordance with the legal provisions.

The legal bases for the retention period are regulated by § 147 and § 257 of the German Tax Code.

Objectives of Data Processing through Responsible Authorities and Third Parties

We process your data so that we can make our online offer available to you. If you contact us or register for a course, we process your data in order to contact you and/or process the course booking.

We will only process the data that we have collected from you for the purposes stated within this data protection statement. Your data will not be transmitted to third parties for other purposes. Your data will only be transmitted to third parties in the following circumstances:

  • If you have expressly consented to it,
  • If it is necessary in order to execute a contract with you,
  • If it is necessary to transmit it in order to fulfil a legal requirement.

Types of Data Processed:

We process the following types of personal data:

  • Stock data (e.g. names and addresses)
  • Contact data (e.g. telephone numbers, e-mail addresses)
  • User data (e.g. which internet sites have been visited, time they were accessed for, access location)
  • Meta data and communication data (e.g. IP addresses and device information)

If you wish to receive further information on which data we process and why we process them, you can find it in the relevant paragraph of this data protection statement.

Recording of Access Data and Log Files

We and/or your server provider will automatically collect and save the information that your browser will transfer every time you access our website. The following information will be saved in these (Apache) server log files:

  • Browser type/version
  • IP address
  • Operating system used
  • Referrer URL (the site visited before ours)
  • Time of server request
  • Name of website called up
  • Data volume transferred

These data will not be assigned to specific persons for us. These data will not be merged with other data sources, and the data will automatically be erased from the server after 7 days. Should further retention of data be necessary for evidence purposes, these data will not be erased until the matter has been clarified.

Data Processing for Course Registration

Registration for our language courses is carried out via this website. Entry of some of your personaldata is required to register for courses. The interculturas Academy places great importance on protecting the personal data of all its clients. When collecting, processing and using personal data, the interculturas Academy is obliged to comply with the applicable European and German data protection laws.

The interculturas Academy only collects, processes, uses and saves the personal data that are required for it to fulfil its contractual and pre-contractual obligations (e.g. contact with clients, quality assurance, complaint management).Under compliance with the legal provisions, transmission of data to third parties (e.g. organizations from which the interculturas Academy obtains funding) and/or to third parties who play a part in executing the order (e.g. course leaders) may be necessary in order to fulfil the contractual and pre-contractual obligations. Any other purposes require separate consent from the person(s) concerned. The interculturas Academy has established measures which ensure that the correctness and completeness of the processed personal data are assured, and also keep this data up to date.

Saved data may be retained for a statutory retention period. Furthermore, the interculturas Academy shall not save the personal data for any longer than is permitted under the applicable data protection legislature and other statutory provisions.

Contact Details

We hereby state that transferring data via the internet (e.g. when communicating by e-mail) can create vulnerable points in terms of security. It is impossible to guarantee full and complete protection against third party access for your data.

Should you contact us via telephone or e-mail, your data will be processed with the intention of fulfilling your contact enquiry. We delete enquiries when they are no longer required.
